A great synthesis of my hobby, Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris

Can't beat a good airplane song, so . . . . .

And so you can sing along . .

Red Staggerwing (feat. Emmylou Harris)
If i was staggerwing plane
A staggerwingpainted red
I'd fly over to your house, baby
Buzz you in your bed
If i was a taperwing
A taperwing painted blue
I'd be barrell-rolling over you
You're gonna need a rider anyhow
Let me be your rider now
If i was a maserati
A red 300s
I'd ride around to your house, baby
Give you a driving test
If i was a mustang racer
White with a stripe of blue
You could ride me,baby
Whenever you wanted to
You're gonna need a rider anyhow
Let me be your rider now
If i was a fender guitar
A fender painted red
You could play me, darlin'
Until your fingers bled
If i was one of them gibsons
Like a '58 or '9
You could plug me in
And play me anytime
You're gonna need a rider anyhow
Let me be your rider now
If i was a motorcycle
A vincent red rapide
I'd ride around to your house, baby
Get you up to speed
If i was short track racer
I'd be an indian
You could ride me around
And ride me round again
You're gonna need a rider anyhow
Let me be your rider now
You're gonna need a rider anyhow
Let me be your rider now

Nice one Fronty - I did get a bit overexcited because I thought it was going to be Jefferson Airplane for a minute.

I was brought up on airforce bases - I think we must be twins! - I did Laarbruch, Malta, Lyneham, Brize Norton. At Brize Norton there were several US Majors (on VC10s I recall) - we loved their kids especially the boys - so much cooler than the homegrown variety and they had better ‘toys’! – Were you one of them? Their dads drove enormous US cars with bench seats across the front that could fit 3 kids and the driver. They had exotic food (crap chocolate), cool clothes and had showers not baths! They won every bowling tournament.
As with your Frogs, I can't see a Hercules without reverting to childhood. When that one was blown from the skies, it felt like loosing a friend. It was one of the ones from Lyneham that was stationed there in the 60s like me.

Ziggi, I'm in love >B^D>

I spent three years (65-68) as a wee lad at RAF St. Mawgan and St. Eval watching Shackletons and Whirlwinds and the occasional Victor and Vulcan and Beverly and Wasp and Wessex and Lightning and Hunter and Jet Provost and Gnat . . . you get the idea.

Howdy, T. How's brother E and Mr.?

I got a fair selection over on the right - guaranteed to skew your mind and make you pleasantly anti-social and maladjusted >B^D>
